Making Learning Whole by David Perkins
Introduction: A Whole New Ball Game
In David Perkins’ Making Learning Whole, he lays out his 7 part plan for the future of education and how both teachers and students should be looking at learning. He says that we need to look at the big picture, figure out why we are doing the work we do, do things that challenge us, get out of the classroom, connect subjects, work together, and learn how to learn. These are all extremely important topics and ways that our education system can be improved in the future.
Perkins uses the analogy of baseball to compare education to. He says that we should learn subjects as a whole and have end results. I believe that this new way of education will improve the education system for the future and will improve how people learn.
